Mr. Gainer 72 on Tuesday January 31 2017 he lost his fight to cancer at his home surrounded by several of his family members. He was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey October 12, 1944 to the late Herman & Priscilla (Davis) Gainer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Viet Nam War. Dick was retired from Wayne-Westlawn Community Schools and Sugar Springs Association after 11 years of services. He was a member of the Midland Oddfellows, Gladwin Eagles 3292 and the Harrison VFW Post.
He is survived by his wife Trudy Persky; daughters Candi (Marvin Westburg) Gainer, Susan & Gerard Romej and Dawn & Jeff Firestone; step children Joe & Shannon Persky, Jamie & Richard Ward and JD Persky; 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; a brother Ron & Janet Gainer and a most dearest friend Joe& Chris Kedlac. He was preceded in death by his father Gainer on December 25, 2016, his mother Priscilla Gainer on January 3, 2004, two brothers Roger Gainer on February 3, 2011 and Bob on January 30, 2012.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday February 3, 2017 at 1 pm at the Gladwin Eagles # 3292, 101 State St. Gladwin, Michigan with his brother Ron Gainer presiding. Family will greet friends from 12 noon until till of services and military honors.
