Mr. Dewachter 67 passed away peacefully on Thursday March 3, 2016 at his home with his loving wife at his side. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 1, 1948 to the late Albert & Josephine (Snelzer) Dewachter. Rick was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army and Lifetime member of the VFW. He was retired from Rose Tool & Die of West Branch and a member of the Secord Lake Eagles Club. He loved the out of doors, hunting, ice fishing and his road trips on his motorcycle to the Upper Peninsula.
He survived by his wife the former Judy A. Sutherland whom he married on October 3, 2015. His step children Michelle & Virgil Martin and Shannon & Keith Williams; 3 grandchildren; 5 brothers Larry, Ron & Katherine, Don & Nancy, Dave and Phillip & Pam Dewachter, also several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 1 pm at the Oak Grove Log Church, 5636 Cedar Lake Rd. Gladwin with Pastor Paul Klassen presiding. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Oak Grove Log Church.
