Mr. Beckham 94 went to be with his Lord Saturday November 3, 2012 at Caretel Inns of Linden following a brief illness with his family at his side. He was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi on April 17, 1918 to the late John M. & Viola E. (Jenkins) Beckham. He married the former Bertha Lowen on November 26, 1941 in Philadephia, Mississippi, she survives him. Bob was a veteran of WW II surviving in the Army. He was retired from General Motors Flint- Metal Fab Plant and enjoyed golfing & fishing in his retirement. He was a devoted member of the Secord Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Bertha. Their children Robert W. Beckham, Michael D. Beckham and David A. & Judy Beckham; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grand children and 1 great great grandson. He was predeceased by 6 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral Services will be held Monday November 5, 2012 at 1 pm from Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Lambert presiding with burial in McClure Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Secord Baptist Church.
