Robert J. “Bob” Emmert

Mr. Emmert 76 went to be with his savior on Sunday August 10, 2014 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Gladwin following a brief illness. He was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on June 4, 1937 to the late Robert H. & Bernice Clara (Grybel) Emmert. He was a graduate from Alma College with a Bachelor of Science degree. He married the former Mary Ellen Rushman on February 6, 1960 in Wyandotte, Michigan, she survives him. He retired from the Dearborn Plant of Ford Motor Company. Bob enjoyed the out of doors where he hunted, fished and worked in his garden and yard. He was an active member of the Gladwin Church of Christ and hosted several summer campouts for the youth of the church.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen of 54 years and their children Karen Emmert, Robert & Holly Emmert , Andrew & Kimberly Emmert and Kathleen & Steve Stanley; his grandchildren whom he dearly loved and enjoyed Jennifer, Christopher, Matthew, Kevin, Emily, Robby, Laura, Lisa, William and Elena; a brother Lawrence (Marilyn) Emmert and a sister Patricia Montgomery. He was preceded in death by a brother Leonard Emmert.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday August 14, 2014 at 11 am at the Gladwin Church of Christ, 425 E. Grout St., Gladwin, Michigan with Pastor Tony Reynolds presiding. Family will greet friends from 10 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Wounded Warriors Fund or the Church of Christ Love Bears. Arrangements were entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home.
