Mr. Shaffer 84 passed away Saturday February 1, 2014 at his home following a brief illness with his family at his side. He was born in Detroit on August 16, 1929 to the late Roy & Susan (Ingrody) Shaffer. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He married the former Marge Gingilosk on July 17, 1954 in Troy Michigan, she survives him. Bob was a retired graphic illustrator working on the Redstone Missile Project for Werner Von Braun and for General Motors Chevy Truck & Bus for 32 years. He was an active member of the Gladwin United Methodist Church and Men’s Club. He enjoyed oil painting, bocce ball, sailing and hunting.

Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years Marge of Sugar Springs, Michigan, four children; Tamara and husband Larry Smeage of Spring Lake, Michigan, Karl and wife Kris Shaffer of Ann Arbor, Michigan,
Nanette and Husband Brian Krygier of Porter, Indiana and Susan Przekop of Shelby Township, Michigan.

He also is survived by nine grandchildren: Karah Shaffer of New York, New York, Chloe and husband Dustin Wisdom of Raeford, North Carolina, Jennifer Smeage and Kristopher Smeage of Spring Lake,
Michigan, Stefan Shaffer and Kate Shaffer of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Claudia Krygier , Trevor Krygier and Quintin Krygier of Porter, Indiana. And one great-grand daughter Leigha Wisdom of Raeford, North Carolina.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 am from Gladwin United Methodist Church with Rev. David Amstutz presiding. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 7pm. On Wednesday Mr. Shaffer will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of services. Those wishing and expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Gladwin United Methodist Church.
