Obituary for Ronald "Fitz" N. Fitzpatrick
Fitz 73 passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday July 3, 2018 following a lingering illness. He was born on May 7, 1945 in Gladwin to the late Nelson & Veris (Young) Fitzpatrick. He married the former Susan L. Ostrand on October 30, 1976 in Clarkston, Michigan. She survives him. Fitz most of his life worked with his hands especially with wood building anything that was needed. He was a 40 year member of the Gladwin Eagles and enjoyed being with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Susan, daughters Annette (Ray) Swain of Flint, Michelle (Scott) Brainard of Manton, Christina and Ronnie Jean Fitzpatrick of Gladwin, son Master Chief Jason (LaDonna) Fitzpatrick of the United States Navy and Kevin of Austin, TX; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 2 sister Judy (Jerry) Smith of Mt. Morris and Kimberly Frye of Gladwin, sister in law Sharon Fitzpatrick and brother Mark Fitzpatrick of Gladwin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Gary, Roger, Rick, Randy, Mike, and sister Kathy.
Memorial service and luncheon will take place on Saturday July 14, 2018 at 2pm at the Gladwin Eagles, 101 N. State St. in Gladwin. In honor Fitz’s wishes cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions will be used at the family’s discretion.
