Obituary for Ronald Paul Maxson

Ronald Paul Maxson passed away from injuries received in a car accident on the morning of March 16.  Born on September 18, 1975, Ron happily spent the majority of his life in Gladwin, MI.  He graduated in 1994 from Gladwin High School where he was already known for his beautiful singing voice.  He carried this talent to the collegiate level, majoring in Music at Adrian College (BA, 2001).  After college Ron returned home and became a fixture in the community.  He established many friendships at the Gladwin Post Office, where he worked, the Eagles Club, where he played pool, and the Community Church Choir, where his voice enabled his star to perhaps shine most brightly.

Ron left an indelible mark on everyone who met him.  He was a gentle soul who accepted people as they were.  He was joyful and kind.  He loved to play golf; to watch the Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers; and to play video games.  He liked to read fantasy and science fiction novels and he knew more than most about eighties music.  His cat, Anthony, could never have asked for a more loving caregiver.  He deeply loved his fiancé, Sarah, to whom he bestowed an engagement ring just weeks before his passing.  Ron’s laugh, genuine smile, and twinkling eyes will be dearly missed.

Ron was predeceased by his grandparents – Allen and Vivian Maxson and Ruth and Herbert Schmidt.  He is survived by his fiancé, Sarah Langlois; parents, Ron and Cathy Maxson; his brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Jennifer Maxson; and by his niece, Alexandria Maxson, whom he loved like his own and looked forward to seeing grow up.  He has also left behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and life-long friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday March 20, 2013 at 11 am from First United Methodist Church with Pastor Cheryl Mancier presiding with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 8 pm. On Wednesday Ron will lie in state at church from 10 am until time of services. Those an expression of sympathy are asked to considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Family’s wishes.
