Obituary for Ronald "Ron" E. Henke
Ron Henke, 71, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at his home in Gladwin. He was born in Wayne, Michigan on September 30, 1945 to the late Ewald and Marian (Sark) Henke. He spent most of his childhood in Christmas, Michigan. Ron graduated from Mather High School in Munising, Michigan in 1963. He worked at Brown Machine and Dow Chemical as a Design Engineer. Ron married Kathleen Horne in December of 1965 before he courageously served as Sergeant E5 in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He will be remembered for his joy of fishing, hunting and dancing. He was a member of the Vietnam Veteran of America Chapter #237 in Munising, Michigan, American Legion member, and parishioner at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Ron is survived by his son Eric (Lisa) Henke of Hartland, Michigan, along with granddaughters Julia and Emma; and daughter Deanna (Rich) Worosz of Garden City, Michigan, along with grandson Ryan. He is survived by his brother Larry of Waterford, Michigan, sister Linda Tennessen of Franksville, Wisconsin, and sister, Sue White of Clarkston, Michigan. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Gladwin. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
