Russell L. “Butch” Colter

Mr. Colter 76 passed away Sunday December 21, 2014 at his home with his family at his side following a lingering illness. He was born in Elmira, Michigan on December 15, 1938 to the late Clarence & Audrey (Sides) Colter. He married Janett Lee Dowland on November 7, 1970, she survives him. Butch enjoyed keeping busy with many jobs and enjoyed wood working specially making toys for his grandchildren. He served his country for four years in the Marines.
He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters Adrienne Turner and Cindi & Cary Leugers; a step daughter Marcel Beck; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a brother Clarence Colter Jr. and a half sister Georgette & Stanley Root. He was preceded in death by a sister Ruthann Finney and a step father George Nash.
In honoring Butch’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home.
