Mr. Allen passed away Thursday April 10, 2014 at Mid-Michigan Gladwin Pines following a brief illness. He was born in Clare, MI on November 25, 1937 to Ernest and Lelah May (Teal) Allen. He married the former Phyllis Sharp on July 30, 1960 at the Skeel Baptist Church. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing with his family.
He is survived by his loving daughters Wendy (Scott) Kemmer and Toni (Kirt Cripps) Allen; 6 grand children Ashley Ann, Kielee May, Ethan Todd, Caden Joseph, Madison Joan and Austin Michael Turner; his mother- in-law Ethel Emrick; two sisters Laural (Marion) Hildebrandt, and Lelah May (Michael) Dwyer, two sister in-laws Orta Allen, Emma Allen and one brother in-law Edward Spicer. He is predeceased by his wife Phyllis Ann, two brothers Kenneth Allen, Max Allen and one sister Naomi Spicer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 12, 2014 at 1:00 pm from the Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Bradstreet presiding with burial in the Arthur Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral home on Friday from 6 to 9 pm. On Saturday Mr. Allen will lie in state at the church from 12 pm until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
