Mrs. Schaffer 92 passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday May 31, 2016 following a lingering illness. She was born in Detroit on April 23, 1924 to the late Charles & Ethel (White) Glazier. She married Raymond Schaffer and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was retired from Robinson Industries and owned & operated The Village Outlet for many years. Shirley loved working in her flower gardens.
She is survived by her two sons David Schaffer and Donald Schaffer; 5 grandchildren Melissa, Carrissa, Thomas, Holly, Tony, Michael and Heather; several great grandchildren; a sister in law Billy Croll and a longtime friend Marge Skaggs. She was preceded in death by 2 sons John R. Schaffer and James M. Schaffer and a brother Donald Glazier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday June 2, 2016 at 3 pm from the Sisson Funeral Home with Chaplain Kim Chenoweth presiding with burial in Ridge Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch, MI or the Council on Aging.
