Obituary for Steve A. Schloff
Steve A. Schloff, age 61, of Gladwin, MI, formerly of Wixom, MI, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 at his residence. He was born February 11, 1949 in Detroit, MI, the son of Donald and Frances (England) Schloff.
Steve was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army Military Police in which he was a awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Custer; Bronze Star Medal and Sharpshooter. On July 1, 2005 he married Toni Quinn in Farmington Hills Michigan. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed all types of music especially early Rock and Roll and 50’s music.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald Schloff.
He is survived by his wife Toni Quinn of Gladwin, MI; Mother Frances Schloff of Sterling Heights, MI; Brothers, James Schloff of East Point, MI and Mark (Michelle) Schloff of Madison Heights, MI. Sister Barbara (Eduardo) Arrieta of Middletown, RI. Step-Children; Allison (Jeffory) Whitmer of Germantown, Maryland and Caitlin (Ryan) Ostby of Muskegon, MI. Step-Grandchildren; Quinn Whitmer and Madison Ostby.
In accordance with Steve’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sullivan and Son funeral home located at 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd., Royal Oak, MI, 48067, with Deacon Mike Kairis officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of services. Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Sisson Funeral Home, Gladwin, MI.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Steve to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund or the Heartland Hospice of West Branch, MI.
