Our Beloved Thelma L White, age 75, entered into the arms of her Lord on October 3rd, 2014, at the home of her sister and care-giver Shirley J Villeneuve, in Beulah, Michigan.


Thelma was born on August 29th, 1939, in Gladwin, Michigan to the late Wayne and Laura (McDonald) Roberts. She spent her early childhood in Gladwin County with her parents, Wayne and Laura and sisters Arlene and Shirley.


Thelma was the great, great, great granddaughter of Marvel Secord, the first white settler in Gladwin County.


Thelma lived and worked in Lansing where she raised her four children Larry, Wayne, and Mark White and her daughter Tina Smith. Thelma worked and retired from General Motors.


Thelma retired to her home in Houghton Lake and spent many winter vacations in Florida and other warm and sunny areas.


Thelma had a wide range of interests and hobbies including sewing, crocheting, cooking, canning, jewelry making, bingo, dancing, caring for her flowers, an extensive garden and she was noted for her sweet love of animals as well as fishing on her favorite fishing spots on Houghton Lake.


Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Laura Roberts, her daughter, Tina Smith, and her close friends David Nieto and Jack Kelly of Gladwin


Thelma is survived by her children Lawrence (Shari) White, Wayne White, Mark White, sisters Arlene Parker and Shirley Villeneuve. Thelma was blessed with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews


According to her wishes, Thelma will be interred at the Ridge Cemetery, next to her daughter Tina, her mother Laura and her grandmother Anna through arrangement with Sisson Funeral Home of Gladwin.


Visitation will be at Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin from 9AM to 11AM on Tuesday October 7th with the Service at 11AM with Pastor Phillip Hortop of Gladwin Free Methodist Church Officiating., Interment immediately following at the Ridge Cemetery, on Pratt Rd off M-18 in Gladwin County.
