Obituary for Vaughn E. Fickies
Mr. Fickies, 73 passed away Wednesday March 11, 2015 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Flint on February 9, 1942 to the late Elmer & Marea (Sutliff) Fickies. He married the former Garlyn Ann Johnson in Flint on May 14, 1960. Vaughn retired from General Motors Metal Fab after 30 years and then became an active member of the Secord Lake Eagles. He enjoyed the snowmobiling, fishing, racing, boating, hunting and downhill skiing. He will be remembered for his ability to repair and fix anything around the house or that family needed done.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, their children Deborah & Bill Sprague, Douglas Fickies, and David & Tina Fickies; 5 grandchildren Mac, Michael, Jane, Katie and George; a great granddaughter Emmy; a sister Judy & Terry Yoder and a brother Hal & Linda Fickies also several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of his Life will be held Wednesday March 18, 2015 at 12 Noon at Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Slosser presiding. Family receive friends and family on Wednesday from 10 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Jude’s Research Hospital or Beaverton Church of God
