Mrs Lyons 93 went to be with her Lord on September 10, 2012 following a brief illness. She was born in Gladwin County on April 5, 1919 to the late Floyd & Ardeane (Johnson) Sharp. She married John Lyons on August 31, 1936 in Gladwin. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2012. She was a member of the Gladwin Cornerstone Baptist Church and enjoyed being with her family.
Surviving are her children Gilbert & Lucille Lyons, Norma & Ward Schanhals, Nancy Lyons, Sandra Lyons-Bluestone and Bradley & Barbara Lyons; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday September 12, 2012 at 11 am from the Gladwin Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastors Carl Briggs and Scott Bradstreet presiding with burial in Sherman Township (Skeels) Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm. On Wednesday Mrs. Lyons will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of service. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Gladwin Cornerstone Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
