Obituary for Walter W. Clingan
Walter W. Clingan, age 85, of Beaverton, MI. On March 12, 2010 Walter went peacefully to be with wife Elenor, son Tom and daughter JoAnne. He was born October 20, 1924 to Korah and Mary (Wilkerson) Clingan in Covington Ohio. On November 17, 1945 he married Elenor Ingle. They had seven children: Judy Wyse, Mary(Larry)Blades, Peggy(Randy)Morse, Susan(Gerdon)Russell all of Beaverton and son John of California. Son Tom and daughter JoAnne Klich preceded him in death. Walter was one of 8 children. Brothers Bert, Tom, Alfred and Jim. Sisters Gladys, Miriam, and Etoille. Walter was employed at Dow Corning for 27 years as an operator. He also farmed, owned a Vernors pop route and his own excavating company. He enjoyed his family and friends and spent many hours helping everyone out. He enjoyed deer, fox, pheasant and mushroom hunting. He raised labs and loved his dogs. He also enjoyed his frequent trips to Mount Pleasant. He is survived by his five children, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, special friend Mildred Carr, sister Gladys, brother Jim and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday March 16th at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Lynn Chappell officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 2-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Dale Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Walter to the Hospice of Mid-Michigan.
