Obituary for William Murphy
Mr. Murphy 79 passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2012 at Gladwin Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. He was born December 25, 1932 in Windsor, Ontario to Thomas and Florence (Howarth) Murphy. He Retired from Ford Motor Company’s Woodhaven Plant after 23 years of service. He is survived by his daughter Laura (John) Gitre of Canton, son Joe Murphy of Texas, two grandsons, Michael Grose and Aaron (Megan) Grose, three grandchildren Kelly Gitre, Kendall and Alex Murphy, a sister Mae Yeomans and brother Edward Murphy. Mr. Murphy is also survived by his significant other, Ruby Taylor of 15 years and he will be missed very much. He is predeceases by his wife Delores and sons Billy and Kevin. . Murphy enjoyed golfing, euchre and working in his flower beds. He enjoyed traveling and was always willing to help others in need. Visitation was held January 27, 2012 from 5-9 P.m. and his Funeral services were held January 28th at 10:00 a.m. at the L.J. Griffin Funeral home, Canton, Michigan. A Memorial service for Mr. Murphy will be held at a later date.
