Obituary for Willis Bill T. Bennett Jr.
Willis T. Bennett Jr. “Bill”
Gladwin, Michigan
Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather went home to the Lord on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the age of 82 with his loving family by his side. In December, 1953 he married his loving wife and best friend Janice (Densmore) in Saginaw, Michigan. Together they raised 4 children.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He worked at U.S. Graphite for 31 years, and then retired from General Motors in 1992. He took pride in the fact he earned his Masters Electricians license in 1986. A loyal and faithfull member of the Salvation Army Citadel, singing Brigades and the Salvation Army Band.
Bill and Janice spent their years together in Saginaw, Bay City, Lake 13 in Farwell and Gladwin. He loved the outdoors, playing basketball, softball, playing games or cards on the deck, fishing and boating on the river. He especially enjoyed spending countless hours with his grandchildren baiting their hooks, removing fish and making them kiss the first fish they caught each summer. He was a member of the Gladwin Big Boys Club and the Tuesday night pool league at the Wooden Shoe and Secord Bars.
Those left behind to celebrate his life and love are 3 daughters and their spouses Vickie & Jim, Carol & Howard, Tamara & Terry and 1 son Willis III “Bill”, ten loving grandchildren, Celestial, Sarah, Elizabeth, Kristine, Paul, Christopher, Rebecca, Caitlin, Michael & Julie, eleven special great-grandchildren Edgar, Gus, Lilah, Harlan, Elijah, Connor, Camden, Ford, Jenna, John & Josie.
