Our loving mother and grandmother went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday February 18, 2016 at the Mid Michigan Gladwin Pines following a lingering illness. Dorothy was born in Detroit March 27, 1915 to the late Wilbur M. & Helen L (Herman) Hoey. She married Frederick Scott on October 9, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 1964. Dorothy worked as a legal secretary in the Farmington Hills area until her retirement in 1992. She moved to Gladwin in 2006 to be close to her family. She was devoted member to the Wellspring Baptist Church in Farmington Hills and an honorary member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Gladwin. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing and making clothing for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Fred & Ruth Scott and Susan L. Scott; a granddaughter Pamela & Jeff Foor, 3 great grandsons Jacob, Benjamin and Chaz Foor.
Funeral Services will be held Monday February 22, 2016 at 3 pm at the Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Dorais presiding with burial in White Chapel Memorial Park, Troy Michigan. Family will receive family and friends from Monday Noon to time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Emmanuel Baptist Church or Wellspring Baptist Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday February 22, 2016 at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
