Obituary for Bernice Florence Ahti
Bernice Florence Ahti, age 85, of Gladwin, MI, passed away on Tuesday, November 01, 2011 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Midland surrounded by her family. She was born November 22, 1925 in Kankakee, ILL, the daughter of the late Hugo and Elsie (Segeberg) Nelson.
She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She traveled throughout Europe and the United States and was proud to be a stay at home mother before starting work outside of the home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lars Ahti.
She is survived by her children, Richard Ahti of Okemos, MI and Laurie Webb of Gladwin, MI. 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Brother Harold Nelson of St. Paul, MN, Sister Eleanor Dengler of Louisville, KY. 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
In accordance with Bernice’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sisson Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or to the Gladwin County Humane Society.
