Obituary for Charles F. Taylor
Charles F. Taylor, age 82, of Gladwin, MI, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2010 at Mid-Michigan Gladwin Pines Nursing Center. He was born on September 13, 1927 in New Mattamorris, OH the son of the late William and Bessie (Gorby) Taylor. Charles served in the U.S. Navy during WWll. He married Mary Ann Phelps on March 19, 1948 whom he was married to for 54 years. He worked for 30 years for Dow Chemical Co. He enjoyed ice fishing and golfed on a league for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann in 2002, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. He is survived by his children, Ron (Evelyn) Taylor of Gladwin, MI; Scott (Debi) Taylor of Petoskey, MI and Jill (Brad) Lower of Gladwin, MI. Grandchildren; Brian Taylor, Valerie (Justin) Bruner, Marybeth Taylor, Jennifer (Matthew) Overby, Amy (Wayne) Walts, Kimberly Lower, Nicole Burr and Zachary Fedus. Great Grandchildren; Ethan Bruner and his baby brother due in April, Haley and Macy Walts and Isabella Overby. Brothers; William (Phyllis) Taylor of Brimley, MI and Jack Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, MI. Sisters in Laws; Carol Phelps of Cedar Springs, MI; Linda (Jim) Horn of Beaverton, MI and Helen Taylor of Palo Alto, CA. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Alexander officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2009 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles to Hospice of Mid-Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
