Mr. Dubey 89 passed away Thursday September 29, 2016 at Gaylord-Tender care following a brief illness. He was born on September 19, 1927 in St. Clair Shores to the late Samuel and Frances (Longstreth) Dubey. He graduated from South Lake High School in St. Clair Shores. After graduation Richard enlisted and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He married the former Irene Gertrude Conway in St. Clair Shores where they lived and raised three sons. He was a firefighter for twenty eight years before retiring and moving to the Gladwin area. Richard was a member of the AFL-CIO, the Metropolitan Club and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. He is survived by two sons Michael (Monica) Dubey and Robert Dubey, three grandchildren Alex Dubey, Abbey Dubey and Amanda Morice, one brother Eugene (Lavora) Dubey, sister in law Anna Marie Dubey and his companion for over 20 years Jennie Bond. He is predeceased by his wife Irene, one son Lawrence “Larry” Dubey, his brother Clinton Dubey and his sister Delores Arcenault.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 330 N. Silverleaf Street, Gladwin, MI with a reception following at Meadow Lanes Bowling Banquet, 430 W. 5th Street, Gladwin, MI. Arrangements entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home.
