Mary 91, passed away on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Horizon’s Standish following a lingering illness. She was born on April 1, 1925 in Flint, Michigan to the late Walter and Bertha (Walder) Vaughan. Mary worked as a secretary for the superintendent George Daly at Kearsley High School. She served in the W.A.V.E.S. during World War II. Mary married Charles R. Clore on June 18, 1949 in Flint, Michigan, he deceased her in 1987. She served on many election boards and as chairman at times for Sherman Township. Mary volunteered at R.I.F, Gladwin, Hospice of Gladwin Area office, financial secretary for First United Methodist Church for three years, a member of Order of Eastern Star, White Clover Chapter no. 84, Gladwin and First United Methodist Church of Gladwin. Mary was a former member of Gladwin Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #3292.
She is survived by her children Charles(Terry) Clore, Calvin (Sherry Davidson) Clore, Clifford (Chris) Clore, and Margaret (Ray Weathers) Clore; Nine grandchildren; Fourteen Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Naomi Vaughan, a half brother Earl Cooper and a half sister Claribell Cooper.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday February 21, 2017 at 11am, at the First United Methodist Church of Gladwin, with burial in McClure Cemetery, with military honors at the graveside. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin, Michigan on Monday from 4pm till 7pm. On Tuesday Mary will lie in state at the church from 10am till time of service.
